Odisha: Rourkela Municipal Corporation To Organize Brahmani River Festival

**Rourkela:** Rourkela Municipal Corporation is going to organize “1st Brahmani River Festival”; the 1st time ever in the city in association with Dept. of Tourism, Government of Odisha. This festival will be held from 01.02.2019 to 03.02.2019 at the Bir Birsa Munda Stadium, Rourkela. The festival logo was unveiled today at a Press Meet held at the City Auditorium.

Through this festival; the Rourkela Municipal Corporation aims to make the citizens connected with Music, Dance, Food, Play and Heritage at one stop. The intent of the festival is to promote the city at all levels and to all spheres by promoting the city artisan groups and focusing on the cosmopolitan character of the city, said Commissioner of Rourkela Municipal Corporation Rashmita Panda.

A sequence of events is planned for the festival to attract more visitors to the mega event. A roster of Celebrity singers from Ollywood and Bollywood like Vinod Rathod, Rituraj, Ananya, Amrita Bharati, Abhijeet, Biswajeet and Mantu Chhuria and other eminent artists will perform live in this 3 day long cultural extravaganza.

Popular Odissi Dancer Rupashree Mahapatra, Prince Dance Group, Sambalpuri Lahari Dance Group, Dancing sensation Harihar, Nupur Dance group from Kolkata, Lady Michle Jackson Roja Rana and Digital Sand Artist Suchitra Maheswata will also entertain the audience. Apart from that eminent cultural troupes of the city will also perform in the event.

Also the event will showcase the rich Tribal Heritage in a specially designed tribal village with selfie corners. The tribal village will exhibit the indigenous arts & crafts, culture, rituals and traditions. A Special Kids Fun Zone at the event venue will attract children of various age group and the zone will be full of fun activities.

During the festival, leading hotels and restaurants of the city will prepare different cuisines for the foodies. “We hope this 1st Brahmani River Festival will be a remarkable event in the history of the city and people will enjoy the entire program,” Panda added.
