**Puri:** Incidents of cash seizures have sky-rocketed ahead of polls. In yet another incident, Rs 8.96 lakh was seized from the car of a contractor in Pipili’s Delang area near Radhua market late last night.
The incident occurred when one Bibhuti Swain was traveling in his Scorpio car (OD-02 AB-4777) and the vehicle was intercepted and thoroughly checked by cops and the flying squad.
When questioned, Bibhuti was not able to provide a satisfactory answer and thus the cash was seized under 102 CrPC act. Cops are further probing into the matter.
