Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued a stern directive to employees of the Rural Development department, mandating strict adherence to office hours.
As per the guidelines, staff must report to work by 10:00 AM and cannot leave before 5:30 PM, ensuring a minimum of 7.5 hours of presence in the office.
To enforce compliance, the department has introduced biometric attendance systems, requiring employees to register their entry and exit times. Failure to record “Office Out” time will be treated as absence for the day. A 30-minute grace period is allowed for unforeseen delays.
The department has warned of disciplinary action, including deduction of half-day casual leave, for employees who fail to meet the required working hours. Employees are required to intimate their Branch Officer/Competent Authority in writing in case of emergencies or official tours that prevent them from recording attendance.
This move aims to bring transparency, discipline, and efficiency to the Rural Development department, ensuring better service delivery and administrative efficiency in rural development initiatives.
