Odisha’s Industrial Policies Aim At Making Educated Youth Self-Reliant: Minister

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to make Odisha’s educated youth mass self-reliant, State Government has been implementing a number of industrial policies while industries are being set up for creating employment opportunities in the localities.

This was informed in the Assembly today by Industries Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra.

Replying to a question posed by senior Congress MLA Suresh Chandra Routray, the Minister apprised the House asserting that nine big industries have been set up in Khurda district alone and not a single industry out of them has reportedly been shut down.

Listing out the nine big industries in Khurda district, the Minister named their locations at Champajhara, IDCO Industrial Area, Chhatabar, IDCO Food Processing Park, Khurda, Antapatna Industrial Area, Bhubaneswar and Mancheswar Industrial Estate, Bhubaneswar.

He also informed the House that the nine industries are creating employment opportunities for 7248 persons.

So far the policies being enacted in the State for employment generations for self-reliant educated youths, the Industries Minister named: ‘Industrial Policy Resolution, 2015’, ‘Odisha MSME Policy’, ‘Start-up Policy’, ‘Apparel Policy’, ‘Biotechnology Policy’, ‘ICT Policy’, ‘Healthcare Investment Policy’, ‘Odisha Fisheries Policy’, ‘Odisha Food Processing Policy’, ‘Pharmaceutical Policy’, ‘Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing Policy’, ‘Renewable Energy Policy’, ‘Odisha State Film Policy, 2019’ and ‘Tourism Policy’.
