Bhubaneswar: Distinguished writer, secretary of Odisha Sahitya Akademi, and an able administrator Prabodh Rout passed away during treatment at a Cuttack medical facility on Tuesday.
According to reports, Rout met with an accident on Sunday when a stray dog came in front of his two-wheeler in Cuttack and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The accident had occurred in front of Cuttack Collector’s residence.
Members of Odisha Sahitya Akademi have expressed their deepest condolences on the untimely demise of Rout.
“He suffered a severe brain injury in the accident and could not be saved despite the best treatment. He was not only an efficient administrator but also a good writer. I extend my deepest sympathy to the bereaved family,” said Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani.
