Bhubaneswar: The state capital Bhubaneswar, woke up to a temperature of 33.6°C at 8:30 am today, with humidity levels at 62.3%. Despite the cloudy skies, the temperature and heat are expected to rise as the day progresses.
Weather scientist Umashankar Das shared an update on his social media platform X, saying:
“As of 8:30 am today, the temperature in the capital city of Bhubaneswar has been recorded at 33.6°C with a humidity level of 62.3%. Although the skies are currently overcast, the temperature and heat are likely to increase as the day progresses. Yesterday, the capital city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.4°C.”
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the development of two low-pressure systems in the coming days, one over the Arabian Sea and the other over the Bay of Bengal. The low-pressure system expected to form over the Bay of Bengal is likely to bring relief from the scorching heat.
