Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC), after the first phase of the panchayat elections in Odisha, has received proposal to conduct re-poll at 25 places in four districts, informed Secretary Rabindra Sahu on Thursday.
It has been proposed to conduct re-election at 11 places in Jajpur, 4 in Dhenkanal, and 5 each in Puri and Bhadrak. The SEC is considering the proposal and will take appropriate decision, he added.
Around 62.10 lakh voters are to exercise their franchise in the second phase polling that is to be held at 20,466 booths. Out of the 20,466 booths, 3,065 are sensitive booths. Polling parties have reached their destinations, said Sahu.
