Odisha: Security Guard Found 'Murdered' With Throat Slit In Capital City

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, miscreants allegedly slit the throat and murdered the security guard of a marble factory near Pahala area here late last night. The identity of the deceased has been ascertained as Gadadhar Swain (48), a native of Usuma village in Cuttack, who was working as a security guard in Sarala Marbles Ltd.

Tension prevailed in the area as his coworkers and family members blocked the road and demanded speedy justice and Rs 50 lakh for kin of deceased. Traffic came to a standstill in outskirts of Bhubaneswar especially in Hansapal area. Two platoons of police force had to be deployed to take stock of the situation.

According to sources, unidentified miscreants dragged the watchman to the mess in the factory and killed him. While the cause behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, a team of cops from Balianta police station rushed to the spot for an on-the-spot investigation.

It is notable to mention here that on March 16, a security guard of marriage mandap had been shot at by two miscreants.
