Odisha: Sex Racket Busted In Rayagada, 6 Held

Rayagada: Busting a sex racket in Rayagada Town's Saipriya Nagar, cops arrested six persons from a rented house in the area on on intervening night of March 13 and 14.

The arrested persons are Neelachal Choudhury, Amit Laya, Biren Laya, Sibram Dakua, Jagannath Naik and Dukhishayam Kara.

Acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted in the rented house and the flesh trade activity was busted by cops. A woman was found in a compromising position and was rescued from the spot. Seven mobiles, cash of Rs 37,440, five packets of condoms and a car has also been seized from the spot. A case has been registered in this connection with the incident and the accused persons will be forwarded to court soon.

The brothel was in close vicinity to the educational institutions, informed police officials. The cops have registered a case against the accused persons under sections 4,5,6,7 of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, stated reports.

Last year on August 6, a racket was unearthed in Gunupur area and at least three persons were held and a sex worker was rescued.
