Odisha Situation Fully Under Control, Lockdown Possibility Depends On Covid Resurgence, Says DMET

Bhubaneswar: Even though the daily infection figure in Odisha has not been alarming for which another lockdown has to be enforced but it cannot be avoided if there is an acute resurgence in the Covid-19 situation as has been the instance of some other States of late.

These reactions were made by the Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET) CBK Mohanty today during his media interactions.

He explained that Maharashtra and Kerala have detected resurgence while night curfew has been clamped at certain places.

Arguing that the rate of infections has not spiked in our country like Britain and America, the DMET stressed that it all depends on mass awareness and specific Covid behaviour must be sincerely observed.

He also informed that the State Surveillance Team is keeping a strict vigil on the people coming to Odisha from other States.

The DMET made it clear that an area can now be declared containment zone if the situation warrants.
The State Government has made adequate arrangements for Covid-19 testing and the people should suo motu come forward to avert such resurgence, opined the DMET.
