Bhubaneswar: Even as the monsoons have touched peninsular India at Kerala on Sunday, Odisha continues to sizzle. On Saturday, at least 12 stations in the State recorded maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celcius or more.
According to the data provided by the local office of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, below mentioned were the hottest places in the State on Saturday:
Bolangir (42.2), Bolangir (42.2) Boudh (42), Titilagarh (41.8), Parlakhemundi (41.5), Bargarh (41), Malkangiri (41), Bhawanipatna (41), Baripada (41), Sambalpur (40.6), Kirei (40.3), and Sundergarh (40).
Similarly, Bhubaneswar recorded 37.8 degrees and Cuttack 39.6 degrees maximum temperature last afternoon.. The humidity across the State made conditions worse along with the rise in temperature. Met officials said, there will be no major change in daytime temperature for the next five days.
