Bhubaneswar: Odisha is reeling under the scorching heat, with Jharsuguda recording the highest temperature in the state at 41°C as of 11:30 am today. Other parts of Western Odisha are also experiencing high temperatures, with Sambalpur at 38.2°C, Hirakud at 38.4°C, and Rourkela at 38°C.
The state capital, Bhubaneswar, recorded a relatively cooler temperature of 34.6°C. The heat wave has prompted concerns about heat-related illnesses, and residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe.
Notably, on Sunday, cities like Jharsuguda, Balangir, and Titlagarh recorded high temperatures, with Jharsuguda reaching 43.5 degrees Celsius, Balangir at 42.5 degrees Celsius, and Titlagarh at 42 degrees Celsius. Bhubaneswar recorded a temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius, but the heat index made it feel even hotter.
The heatwave is expected to continue in the coming days, and people are advised to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak hours, and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the heat.
