Bhubaneswar: The coastal region of Odisha is experiencing a sweltering heatwave, with record temperatures and humidity levels reaching 70 per cent and above by 8:30 am.
Weather scientist Umashankar Das shared updates on the temperature of coastal Odisha on his social media account X, highlighting record readings in cities like Puri and Chandbali.
As per his tweet, Bhubaneswar recorded a temperature of 32 degrees Celsius by 8:30 am, with humidity levels around 70%.
Puri recorded a scorching temperature of 33.6°C, with humidity at 72.6%. Chandbali also reported a temperature of 32.6°C, with humidity levels at 75.4%.
With temperatures likely to soar further, the India Meteorological Department, meanwhile, advised residents to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.
