<strong>Bhubaneswar</strong>: Odisha is experiencing a severe heatwave, with seven places in the state recording temperatures above 40°C today. Boudh town has emerged as the hottest place, with a scorching temperature of 43.6°C. The mercury levels have been rising steadily across the state, with several towns and cities experiencing extremely hot conditions. According to weather scientist Umashankar Das, temperatures soared across the state, with Jharsuguda recording 42°C, Balangir at 41.7°C, Angul at 41.1°C, Titlagarh at 40.5°C, Sundergarh at 40.3°C, and Bhabanipatna at 40.2°C. The Odisha government has issued heatwave alerts and advised people to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.
