Bhubaneswar: Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) today launched Odisha Skills-2023 at World Skill Centre (WSC).
The event was inaugurated by Chairman of OSDA Subroto Bagchi and the Odisha Skills-2023 registration portal was launched by Minister of Skill Development & Technical Education Pritiranjan Gharai.
Hailing Odisha as a great state for modern skill development, Chairman, OSDA, Bagchi said that “skills that touch the bottom of the pyramid are important and we should focus on them. Our collective job is to bring 10,000 boys and girls in Odisha Skills-2023 from the bottom of the pyramid to represent in non-glamorous trades”.
Minister Gharai said, “Let the Odisha Skills-2023 be the podium for the youth of Odisha to showcase their inner potential to the entire country. He also stated that converting knowledge into wealth is the need of the hour. I am sure with the right skill training; our youth can be the harbinger of transformation in Odisha”
Speaking on the occasion the CEO of WSC stated that “this time Odisha Skills 2023 will encourage the youth of Odisha to get involved in non-engineering trades like health, jewellery design, cabinet making through education in addition to engineering based trades.
The online registration for Odisha Skills-2023 has started today and the last date of registration is 31st August 2022. Odisha Skills will showcase 52 skills ranging from Construction and Building Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Information and Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Social and Personal Care and Transportation and Logistics.
The Odisha Skills -2023 will be held in four zones in the State. The winners from these competitions will compete at Regional Competition, where they would compete with winners from other states and the winners of the regional level will compete at National Competition.
