Bhubaneswar: As per the forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day temperature in several parts of Odisha is likely to rise further by 2-3°C during the next two days. Consequently, day temperature is likely to be 40°C or above at a few places in the state over a few districts during the next 4-5 days.
The weather condition is likely to be hot and uncomfortable during this period. On Monday, Bhubaneswar recorded 31°C by 8.30 am.;
The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) also issued an advisory on Sunday regarding the prevalent weather condition.
The SRC, in a tweet, said, “As per the forecast given by the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, there would be a steady increase in day temperature in various districts. People are advised to stay indoors during peak hours and not go outside unless absolutely necessary.”
The IMD has also issued a yellow warning and forecast that light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, and one or two places in the districts of coastal Odisha.
