Bhubaneswar: The State Transport Authority (STA) has become stricter about traffic rules and reckless driving following recent spate of accidents in the capital city. Police seized the scooter of Jatra actress Rani Priyadarshini for shooting a ‘reel’ on her scooter sans helmet on Sunday.

As per the reports, the actress posted a video on her social media, showing herself riding her scooter on a national highway without a helmet while making ‘reel’.

The video, which caught the attention of the Transport Commissioner, STA, and the DCP Traffic of Bhubaneswar, led to swift action, resulting in the seizure of her scooter. It was also stated that reckless driving would lead to legal consequences, including fine, for violating traffic rules.

The STA took to X to address the matter, “Taking reckless driving seriously, the STA has instructed Bhubaneswar RTO-2 to take necessary action according to the MV Act. With the help of Badagada police, the two-wheeler has been seized.”
