Bhubaneswar: Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan inaugurated several key initiatives at the Odisha State Beverages Corporation office. These include the Central CCTV Monitoring System, Auto Indexing Approval System, and connectivity with the government treasury.
The new systems will enable the four stores of the Odisha State Beverages Corporation to monitor the head office’s workings in real-time, streamlining operations. Minister Harichandan also emphasized the importance of creating awareness among youth against intoxicant consumption, aligning with the new excise policy.
During the event, an annual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Odisha State Beverages Corporation and the Excise Department. The MoU focuses on excise revenue collection and programs to be implemented in the current financial year.
The Odisha State Beverages Corporation contributed Rs 12 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, in addition to an internal dividend of Rs 25 crore and an annual dividend of Rs 14 crore.
The event was attended by Excise Department Secretary Guha Punam Tapas Kumar, Managing Director Ambar Kumar Kar, General Manager Sanjay Kumar Rout, Chief Operations Manas Ranjan Swain, and other officers and employees of the Corporation.
