Bhubaneswar: The students’ wing of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) clashed with the police during a demonstration over unemployment issue at Lower PMG area of the capital city today morning.

According to reports, the protestors and the cops broke into a confrontation when the activists were restricted by the police from marching towards State Secretariat.

Amidst burning effigies and loud chants of condemning the Central Government, one protester said, “It has been four years since Modi has been the Prime Minister. However, none of his promises has come true yet. Many students are still fighting with unemployment problem.”

Meanwhile, Odisha unit Students’ Congress president Itish Pradhan blamed the State Government for the fate of the 42 lakh unemployed youths here in Odisha.

Over 50 protesters were taken into preventive custody by Commissionerate Police in order to calm the situation.
