Bhubaneswar: Six meritorious students from different districts of Odisha, along with a guide teacher, will represent the state in the prestigious SAKURA Science High School Programme (SSHP) in Japan from August 16 to 23, 2025.
The selected students are Sai Soham Pradhan from Iconic OAV, Andharua, Khordha; Sreyashree Panigrahi from BJB Higher Secondary School, Bhubaneswar; Samikhya Rani Mali from Govt. SSD Higher Secondary School, Karchamal, Nabarangpur; Chandra Sekhar Behera from Khallikote Higher Secondary School, Ganjam; Sipra Satapathy from Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School, Cuttack; and Punya Pulokita Pati from OAV, Tarando, Kendrapara. They will be accompanied by the guide teacher, Niharika Sahu from BJB Higher Secondary School, Bhubaneswar. The team departed from Bhubaneswar on August 14, 2025, boarding the Rajdhani Super-Fast Express.
The SAKURA Science High School Programme is an initiative of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) aimed at nurturing young talent in the field of science and technology through short-term visits, academic exchanges, and cultural interactions. The programme provides students from across the globe an opportunity to visit leading Japanese universities, research institutions, and high-tech industries, fostering mutual understanding and inspiring future scientific collaboration.
