Bhubaneswar: The eKYC authentication process for ration cardholders in Odisha is set to be completed by the 15th of this month, according to Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra.
The Minister stated that departmental officials are visiting the homes of elderly ration cardholders to facilitate the eKYC process. Additionally, officers are traveling to other states to authenticate ration cardholders residing outside Odisha. Recently, the eKYC process for some cardholders living in Goa was successfully conducted.
Minister Patra emphasized that eKYC verification is mandatory to remove ineligible beneficiaries, including deceased and bogus entries, from the food security coverage list.
Currently, 85% of the beneficiaries have completed their eKYC authentication, leaving 50 lakh ration cardholders still pending. The Minister assured that the remaining verifications would be completed by the set deadline.
