Puri: Police have arrested the third accused in the gang-rape case of a minor girl which took place here on Monday. The accused has been identified as Rama Chandra Pradhan (32) of Aliaputu under Bramhagiri police limits.
Pradhan was nabbed from his village today morning, the police said. The young girl was allegedly gang-raped by an ex-police constable along with his accomplices at a government quarter near Jhadeswari temple in here on Monday.
On the pretext of dropping her home, the prime accused (dismissed cop) took the girl to Puri and gang-raped her. The matter came to light in the evening after the survivor registered a complaint at the Kumbharapada Police Station.
The victim is reportedly a minor girl aged about 16 years. Earlier, the police have arrested the dismissed police constable and three others in this case.
