Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today promised allotment of land in Puri for the construction of Bihar Bhavan. The announcement was made after a meeting between Naveen and his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar who was on a day’s trip to Odisha.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Naveen told reporters that the Odisha government will provide one and a half acres of land to the Bihar government for free for building Bihar Bhavan in Puri.
The Bihar government had expressed its desire to build Bihar Bhavan for the accommodation of the people of Bihar who come to Jagannath Dham, Puri. The Bihar CM thanked Odisha CM for this announcement.
Kumar came directly to Naveen Nivas from Bhubaneswar Airport. He was invited to lunch at Naveen Nivas by the Odisha CM.
It may be recollected, in March this year, the Odisha CM had allotted land for the construction of Bengal Nivas, following a request by CM Mamata Banerjee during her trip to Bhubaneswar and Puri.
Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena, who had accompanied Banerjee to Puri on that occasion had informed the media that “Many states including West Bengal will be provided with the land for construction of their guest houses here (Puri)”.
Bihar will be the second state after West Bengal which has been allotted land in Puri for construction of guest houses for the people of respective states.
