Odisha To Bring 5,000 Hectare Under Coffee Cultivation In Next 5 Yrs: CM

Bhubaneswar: Odisha targets to bring 5,000 hectares under coffee cultivation in the next five years.

This was informed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the launching of the distribution of Smart Health Cards under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) in Koraput district today.

Speaking on the occasion, Patnaik said that today Koraput has created a new identity for itself as a successful district.

Patnaik pointed out that in addition to creating a reputation as a brand in the market, Koraput Coffee has also created a new opportunity for tribal brothers and sisters.

The Chief Minister further informed that the State government is laying emphasis on the creation of new income avenues along with education and development of communication for tribal brothers and sisters.

Patnaik today launched the distribution of BSKY Smart Health Cards in the district which will benefit 12 lakh beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister unveiled a statue of popular leader and former Minister Harish Chandra Baxipatra and paid rich tributes to him.

He also laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 1,000 crore in the district.
