Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet today approved a proposal to enhance purchase subsidy to promote the purchase and registration of Electric Vehicles in the State.
The State government has implemented the Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy-2021 with effect from 1st September 2021 with an objective for the adoption of 20 percent Battery Electric Vehicles by 2025.
Under the policy guidelines, various incentives have been declared both for purchasers and manufacturers.
One of the key incentives is ‘purchase subsidy’ which is being provided to promote the purchase and register of Electric Vehicles.
Based on the experience and best practices across the country the Cabinet decided to enhance the subsidy.
This will make the policy more progressive and help the State to achieve the desired objective and attract public for purchasing Electric Vehicles, said an official press release.
