Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorms with lightning; and heavy rainfall at one or two places are likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha till July 19, according to the latest weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.
The weather agency has issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for the districts likely to witness thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall.
Here’s IMD’s weather forecast and warning for the districts of Odisha:
Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.07.2024)
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur in many places over Odisha’s districts.
YELLOW WARNING: (BE UPDATED) 1) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.
2) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the Balasore, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2024)
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur in many places over Odisha’s districts.
YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Thunderstorm with lightning and heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur in most places over the districts of Odisha.
