Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met with Odisha MPs to review ongoing and upcoming railway development projects in the state. The meeting highlighted significant progress, with nine Amrit Bharat trains currently operational in Odisha and 100% railway electrification achieved.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that a new Amrit Bharat train connecting Ganjam to Surat will soon be operational in Odisha. Over Rs 90,000 crore worth of railway projects are currently underway in the state, with expectations to soon cross Rs 1 lakh crore.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that efforts will be made to expedite land acquisition for 4-5 priority railway lines in Odisha, accelerating progress on these projects. The meeting emphasised the government’s commitment to enhancing railway infrastructure in the state.
