Bhubaneswar: Odisha is gearing up to host the inaugural edition of ‘ODISHA TEX 2025’, a major textile investment summit, on July 25 at the State Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is slated to inaugurate the event, which is expected to position the state as a leading destination for textiles, apparel, and technical textiles.
According to an official statement released on Monday, the event will serve as a high-level platform for investment announcements and the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with some of the country’s top textile companies.
The state government expects the summit to play a pivotal role in accelerating industrial development and propelling Odisha toward its vision of becoming the textile capital of India by 2030.
Described by the government as the largest textile investment event in Eastern India, ODISHA TEX 2025 will bring together a wide spectrum of industry stakeholders, including global brands, manufacturing giants, startups, and young professionals.
Over 300 delegates from across the country—representing key textile hubs such as Tirupur, Bengaluru, Surat, NCR, Punjab, and West Bengal—are expected to participate.
The event comes at a time when Odisha is developing six new textile and apparel parks, as part of its broader strategy to boost manufacturing and job creation. The state is also focused on fostering inclusive growth through rural transformation and women’s empowerment.
“ODISHA TEX 2025 will bring leading textile players to the state and create significant employment opportunities,” said Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department. “With progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, and a skilled workforce, Odisha is building a vibrant ecosystem where textiles can become a powerful engine of industrial growth.”
