Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government Tuesday announced that it has decided to increase the number of seats for Class XII in higher secondary schools across the state. School and Mass Education Minister Sudam Marndi said that the decision has been taken keeping in view the increase in pass percentage in the Matric examinations.
The increase in the number of Class XII seats will come into effect from the 2023-24 academic year. According to the minister, the increase in the number of Class XII seats will be as per need.
In addition, the government is all set to open 106 new higher secondary schools across the state this year for the benefit of students, the Minister added.
Admission of students to these new schools will start from the 2023-24 academic session and all necessary arrangements in this regard have been completed, he said.
