Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government plans to increase the number of Plus II seats in the higher secondary schools in the state keeping in view the large percentage of successful students in the Matriculation examination, the results of which were declared on May 18.
It is worth mentioning here that 94.19% of students were successful in the Matriculation examination in 2023. Last year, the pass percentage was 90.55%.
Talking to the media here on Saturday, School and Mass Education Minister Pramila Mallik said, “The Odisha government will increase the Plus II seats in the state if the need arises. Necessary measures will be taken to ensure that no student suffers.”
“The state government is considering all aspects of the situation and we will soon announce our decision,” she added.
In reply to a question, Mallik said, “Some changes will be made in summative I and II examinations. We will start the form fill-up process for the supplementary examination and it will be conducted soon so that students do not lose an academic year.”
