Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will soon launch bus services to various pilgrimage destinations across the country at affordable prices.
The government has plans to commence the service before the New Year, according to Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena.
Speaking to the media, Minister Jena confirmed that the arrangements for the bus service are almost complete.
“We have already finalised the routes and the buses have arrived. All necessary permissions have been approved, so the services will begin soon,” he said.
The bus routes will connect key pilgrimage sites, such as Puri to Ayodhya and Puri to Tirupati and more.
“These buses will operate from Puri to Ayodhya, Tirupati and other prominent religious places. All arrangements are already in place and the buses are ready to run before the New Year,” added Jena.
The service will be available to everyone with affordable fares. Women will receive special discounts with dedicated buses for them.
“The buses will be well-maintained and the fares will be reasonable, with special discounts for women. Our goal is to offer a comfortable travel experience for all pilgrims,” said the Minister.
He noted that the buses would not only serve pilgrimage routes but would also connect various interstate destinations.
“We have many vehicles and this initiative will expand our transportation network,” he added.
