Bhubaneswar: Enthusiasm among womenfolk to take advantage of Subhadra Yojana has increased and this is evident from the crowds outside for name registration at various Jan Seva Kendras across the state. Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg discussed this at a meeting held at Odisha Computer Application Center (OKAC) on Sunday afternoon with a view to make the application process more simple and easy.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Electronics and IT Division and Chairman OKAC Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, Information and Public Relations, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development, Shubha Sharma, and Principal Secretary, Science and Technology Department, Chithra Arumugam.
In view of the fact that applicants can apply quickly within the system, immediate steps are being taken in all technical aspects. The Chief Secretary emphasised on ways to simplify the application process and make the system easier, simpler and more developed so that the applicants can submit the forms quickly.
On the other hand, it was discussed in the meeting that the role of Anganwadi workers in distributing the forms and helping the applicants to apply is particularly commendable.
Later in the evening, in a virtual meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan through videoconferencing, the District Magistrates were told about the simplification and simplicity of the application process under the Subhadra scheme.
In spite of Sunday being a holiday and the Nuakhai festival, all concerned officials were on the move to monitor and take necessary arrangements for the smooth running of the system and this process is still going on.
