**Balasore**: Dikshya Gupta, a Class-IX student of St Vincent Convent School of Odisha’s Balasore district has been selected for a nine-day tour to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). She will participate in the International Space Science Conference to be held in November.
An elated Dikshya is looking forward to it as her dreams seem to be coming true. She was shortlisted for this trip as she won National Space Science Essay Competition, organised by Go4Guru. The topic was ‘If I happen to meet an alien in Mars’. She found her way in the initial shortlist of 500 from around 3,000 entries of six countries.
Rashmi Gupta, mother of Diksha Gupta is on cloud nine over the achievement of her daughter. Talking to OMMCOM NEWS, she said, ”I feel so proud of Dikshya. She was an avid reader from childhood, and astronomy always attracted her. This opportunity will certainly pave less-trodden paths for her.
“They will leave on 24 November, spend 4 days in NASA, visit some universities and also will go to the Disney World. I am very much excited and happy for her,” she further added.
