**Bhubaneswar:** Odisha will be participating as ‘Partner State’ in the Indus Food meet 2019 to be held at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh between 14-15 January, informed MSME Minister Prafulla Samal after chairing a preparatory meeting in this regard on Thursday.
Organized by Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) and Department of Commerce, Government of India, the mega food international event is an initiative to promote India as a strong exporter of food and beverage products to the World.
Over 600 most prominent Global Buyers from Food & Beverage industry of over 60 countries across the globe will be participating in this 2nd edition of Indus Food. The main aim of this event is to have these buyers on board to increase their existing presence apart from sourcing new products from India, meet suppliers and develop new business relations with about Indian Exhibitors.
Indus Food is conceived to create a Global Food & Beverage market place in India, in line with SIAL, ANUGA & Gulf Food. It would be a great opportunity for the Agri-exporters of Odisha to showcase their products to the prominent buyers of the World.
MSME Secretary LN Gupta said that as a “Partner State”, Odisha will be setting up its own Pavilion with 30 exhibitors showcasing various processed food items of Odisha like spices, cashew, confectionary items, processed agro food, etc.
Directorate of Horticulture and APICOL along with local industry will showcase the processed agro food items as well as spices that are produced in Odisha. The event will boost the confidence of our exhibitors as they can connect with their global counterparts in their home country which will pave the path to better utilization of the resource.
A Seminar on “Potential and prospects of Food Processing Industry in Odisha” is also being organized during the inaugural ceremony on 14th January, 2019 at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Besides, the business delegates going from the states will have B2B meetings with investors/entrepreneurs of other states and countries.
