Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has decided to re-open all the medical colleges of the State from December 1.
“The Medical College Authorities shall follow scrupulously all the SOPs/guidelines with respect to social distancing and prevention of spread of epidemic issued by Central/State Government,” mentions the order issued by Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department.
The order also mentions that the State Government has taken this decision after careful consideration and in pursuant to Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India’s DO on November 25, 2020.
Notably, delaying the re-opening of medical colleges would result in a null academic year 2021-22 which could result in non-availability of medicos and others. The academic session 2020-21 for the fresh MBBS students has already been delayed by four months and the under graduate counselling has already started.
