Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense fog to occur in several districts of Odisha on January 29 and January 30.

According to the IMD’s prediction for January 29, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Khurda and Ganjam districts. These districts have been issued yellow warnings.

As per the weather prediction for January 30, dense fog will engulf one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

Commuters are advised to exercise caution while travelling, especially during early morning hours, as dense fog can reduce visibility and lead to accidents.

“Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Khurda, Ganjam and at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Puri, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh”, read the IMD prediction for January 29 and 30.

Meanwhile, the IMD has also forecast dry weather conditions to persist in the rest of Odisha until February 4.
