Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is constructing cold storages in 58 sub-divisions of the state, informed Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo replying to a question in the Assembly on Wednesday.
According to the Deputy CM, these cold storages will benefit the farmers by reducing their post-harvest losses and increase the values of agricultural products, Singh, who also holds the Agriculture portfolio in the state government, informed.
He further said that the state government has decided to establish need-based cold storage on PPP mode in the state. In addition, the government also has plans to set up hybrid cold storages.
