Bhubaneswar: With the death of another passenger at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Cuttack on Sunday, the toll in the three-train accident near Bahanaga railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district reached 292.
The deceased has been identified as Paltu Naskar from Kolkata.
The accident victim was admitted to SCBMCH in critical condition and was undergoing treatment in the ICU of the healthcare facility.
Earlier this month, three more victims – both from Bihar, succumbed to their injuries at the SCBMCH. While Sohim Mansoor died on Saturday, two others breathed their last in the last 15 days.
It is worth mentioning that the three-train accident involving Coromandel Express, SMVP-Howrah Superfast Express, and a goods train at Bahanaga on June 2 had initially claimed 288 lives and injured over 1,000 passengers.
