Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik arrived at the site of the train accident in Balasore’s Bahanaga today morning. The CM, accompanied by 5T Secretary VK Pandian, reviewed the ongoing relief and rescue operations.
Naveen also held a brief discussion with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw who also arrived at the spot today morning. Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi, DG Police Sunil Bansal, senior police officials, SP Sagarika Nath, and senior officials of the district administration were present during the CM’s review of the train tragedy.
The CM proceeded to the district headquarters hospital in Balasore to take stock of the medical treatment provided to the injured passengers.
Speaking to reporters outside the district headquarters hospital in Balasore, the CM said, “Railway safety should always be given the first preference. The people have been taken to hospitals in Balasore and Cuttack so that they recover as soon as possible.”
