Odisha Train Tragedy: Vaishnaw Announces Ex-Gratia Compensation Of Rs 10 Lakh In Case Of Death

Bhubaneswar: Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced ex-gratia compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the next of kin of those killed in the train accident at Bahanaga in Balasore district today evening.

Similarly, Vaishnaw announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia compensation for those sustaining grievous injuries and Rs 50,000 for those sustaining minor injuries.

The information was shared by Vaishnaw on Twitter.

In an earlier tweet, Vaishnaw has informed that he is rushing to the accident site.

The Railways Minister has prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and has expressed his condolences to the bereaved families.

He has said that rescue teams have been mobilised from Bhubaneswar and Kolkata while NDRF, State government teams and Airforce have been also mobilised.

“Will take all hands required for the rescue ops,” he added.

 

Ex-gratia compensation to the victims of this unfortunate train accident in Odisha;
₹10 Lakh in case of death,
₹2 Lakh towards grievous and ₹50,000 for minor injuries.
