Odisha: Trains Cancelled, Rescheduled After RoB Beam Falls On Railway Track
Bhubaneswar: One train was cancelled and three more were rescheduled today in continuation to the maintenance work of the tracks of the Khurda- Kharagpur route. Yesterday a beam of the under-construction railway overbridge (RoB) had fallen on track at Sobharampur in Balasore district.
Coming to revised train schedule, 12278/12277 Puri-Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express has been cancelled today from both the directions due to abnormal late running of connecting train.
Additionally, these are the rescheduled trains:
*12277 Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express from Howrah which was to start on December 29 has left at 6 am today from Howrah.
*12839 Howrah-Chennai Mail from Howrah which was to start on December 29 will leave at 12.15 pm today from Howrah.
*12703 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express which was to start from Howrah today at 7.25 am will leave at 1.15 pm today.
Yesterday, one of the six beams used for RoB fell which in turn snapped the overhead electric wires. Railway officials rushed to the spot and initiated the repair work. While the repair work is still underway, for convenience of passengers, passage of a few trains was allowed by the East Coast Railways.
