Bhubaneswar: The State Transport Authority (STA) has warned the private buses against collecting excess fare from the passengers and has reminded that such an act violates the bus permit conditions.
Odisha Transport Commissioner in his order has mentioned, “It is noticed that some of the stage carriage operarors are collecting excess fare from commuting public than the maximum fare fixed by this authority which amounts to violation of permit conditions.”
“The stage carriage operators are instructed to collect as per this office Order No. 5737 dated 01.07.2020 till further change in fare,” the State Transport Commissioner’s order reminded.
The bus fare chart meant for different categories of stage carriages from Barmunda Bus Stand to all district headquarters is as follows:
Ordinary Bus – 72 Paise/Km, Express Bus – 75 Paise/Km, Deluxe – 105 Paise/Km and AC Deluxe Bus – 127 Paise/Km.
