**Keonjhar**: In a sorrow-stricken incident at Keonjhar two baby girls aged about three years, drowned in a pond in Dhepasahi village today morning.
The deceased babies have been identified as Preeti Munda and Baijayanti Munda. The incident occurred when the duo was bathing in the pond on their way back from the local Anganwadi centre.
As Preeti and Baijayanti did not return home, their families carried out a search and were shattered to spot two bodies in the village pond.
Locals rushed the two girls to Ghatgaon community health centre (CHC), where the doctor pronounced them dead.
Ghatagaon police have registered a case of unnatural death (UD) and sent the bodies of the deceased for autopsy.
