Bhubaneswar: Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Odisha from now onwards will make their procurements for Micro Composting Centre (MCC) and Material Recovery Facility (MRF) through Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal.
“We are purchasing all materials required for MCC and MRF through GeM portal,” informed Sangramjit Nayak, Director Municipal Administration (DMA) here today.
Jena said that there was a directive/guideline from the Finance department asking us to make our purchases through GeM portal instead of going for tenders.
The DMA pointed out that since Executive Officers faced certain problems initially while making their procurements through
GeM portal all of them have been asked to come here with their laptops wherein officers from the Finance department, GeM portal will be present and the issues will be cleared.
“This is being done keeping in mind the Chief Minister’s directive to follow principles of 5T. This will usher in transparency and teamwork,” Nayak explained.
He said that Executive Officers of all the 114 ULBs have come to take part in the exercise.
