The budget aims to transform Odisha’s urban landscape through the Samriddhi City Scheme, with an allocation of ₹408 crore dedicated to building future-ready cities.

The initiative seeks to drive economic growth, smart urbanization, and sustainable development, ensuring a high quality of life for urban dwellers. Under this ambitious plan, the government will focus on:

  • Enhancing Urban Infrastructure: Upgrading roads, drainage systems, and public spaces to improve liveability.

  • Fostering Community-Centric Growth: Strengthening participatory governance and promoting citizen-driven initiatives.

Recognizing that cities are the engines of economic growth, the Samriddhi City Scheme aims to create employment opportunities, attract investment, and enhance urban life. The plan is aligned with Odisha’s long-term vision for sustainable and inclusive urbanization.

With strategic planning and robust infrastructure, Odisha is setting new standards in urban governance.”

The ₹408 crore investment will be strategically deployed across various cities to ensure balanced and equitable growth. The government is set to finalize project specifics, including timelines and beneficiary cities, in the coming months.

The Samriddhi City Scheme stands as Odisha’s flagship urban development initiative, focusing on economic revitalization, infrastructure advancement, smart governance, and climate resilience. With a people-first approach, the scheme aims to create modern, inclusive, and sustainable urban centers, paving the way for Odisha’s transformation into a prosperous and future-ready state.
