Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Friday apprehended Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) of Damapada Tahasil in Cuttack district Prasanta Kumar Rout for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 as first instalment of overall demand of Rs 12,500 from a person to issue certified copies of orders in mutation cases.
The anti-corruption agency officials have recovered and seized the entire bribe money from Rout’s possession.
The agency has launched simultaneous searches at two locations of Rout from a disproportionate assets (DA) angle following the successful trap.
The Vigilance has registered a case against Rout under section 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 and further investigation into the matter is underway.
