Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance has arrested four government functionaries in separate bribery cases and forwarded them to Vigilance Courts.
Those arrested include two health staffers from the Office of CDMO, Parlakhemundi, one health staffer from Muniguda CHC, Rayagada, and one Junior Clerk from the Office of BEO, Mahakalpada in Kendrapara.
During searches at the office and residence of Jagdish Pattnaik, who worked as a clerk in the Parlakhemundi CDMO Office, a total of Rs 6.69 lakhs was seized, including Rs 5,19,700 from his table drawer and Rs 1.5 lakhs from his government quarter. The seized cash is suspected to be bribery money, and Pattnaik is being interrogated to determine its source.
Meanwhile, the government functionaries have been forwarded to court.
