Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Sunday arrested Dr Ashok Kumar Dash, Consultant O&G (Clinical)-cum- Joint Director at Bhawanipatna District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Kalahandi district while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs 6,000 from a complainant in lieu of pre-natal and post-natal treatment to his pregnant relative who is admitted in the hospital.
The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of Dr Dash.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are underway at 4 locations linked to Dr Dash from disproportionate asset (DA) angle.
A case has been registered in this connection at the Koraput Vigilance police station against the accused under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
