Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Subash Chandra Panda, Deputy General Manager, Engineering (Civil) of Odisha State Police Housing Welfare Corporation (OSPHWC), Berhampur Division for amassing disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 303% of his known sources of income.
According to an official press release, Vigilance officials have unearthed 2 multistoried buildings including 1 triple storied palatial building at Bhubaneswar, payment of Rs 66 lakh to purchase 1 flat at Bhubaneswar, 870 gms gold, 9 high value plots, Deposits over Rs 1.84 crore and cash amounting to Rs 13.47 lakh, one SUV, one two-wheeler and household articles worth around Rs 29.38 lakh in the name of Panda and his family members during house searches.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Panda, were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 303% in excess of his known sources of income.
Further, investigation of the case is in progress.
In this connection, a case has been registered against Panda at Bhubaneswar Vigilance police station on Tuesday against Panda and his spouse under section 13(2) read with 13(1)(b)/12 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
