Odisha Vigilance Arrests Police SI In Corruption Case

Bhubaneswar: A police sub-inspector Ugrasen Patel was arrested by the Vigilance today on charges of possessing Rs 2 lakh, which is suspected to be ill-gotten money, the anti-corruption agency informed.

The sleuths intercepted Patel near Golamunda bus stand while he was heading towards the Golamunda police station. “He was carrying suspected ill-gotten money to the tune of Rs 2 lakh in his motor cycle,” a Vigilance official said.

The money has been seized and his quarter, office room at Golamunda police station and Patel’s house in his native were searched. Three teams, led by as many DSPs are conducting the search, the Vigilance further stated.
